1. Overview

Bluesky Pulse ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

Public Bluesky Data

The Service displays publicly available data from the Bluesky network via the AT Protocol, including profile information, follower counts, post content, and engagement metrics. This data is public by nature and sourced directly from Bluesky's API. We do not collect or store this data beyond short-term caching, except as described below.

Account Data

When you sign in with your Bluesky account, we store your Bluesky DID (decentralised identifier), handle, and subscription tier in our database. We do not store your Bluesky password.

Historical Metrics Snapshots

For Pro and Business subscribers, we collect a daily snapshot of your public Bluesky profile metrics (follower count, following count, post count) to power the historical growth charts. This data is associated with your account and retained for up to 12 months.

Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details. We store your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, and subscription status in order to manage your account. Your email address may be captured from Stripe after checkout.

Usage Data

We use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymised, aggregate usage data (page views, referrers). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the Service
  • To manage your subscription and process payments
  • To display your historical follower growth data in your dashboard
  • To send transactional emails related to your account or billing (we do not send marketing emails)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Stripe — for payment processing
  • Neon — our PostgreSQL database provider, where account and snapshot data is stored
  • Vercel — our hosting provider

All third-party providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for other purposes.

5. Cookies and Sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is strictly necessary for authentication and is not used for tracking. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Daily metrics snapshots are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. If you delete your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Authentication is handled via Bluesky OAuth — we never handle your Bluesky password. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify subscribers of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
